Assistant / Associate Professors of Mechanical Engineering

The School of Engineering at the American University in Dubai is establishing a new undergraduate program in Mechanical Engineering. The University invites qualified applicants for two faculty positions in one or more of the following areas:

Solid Mechanics, Biomechanics, and Mechanical Design
Experimental and Computational Fluid Mechanics
Energy Conversion and Storage
Robotics, Mechatronics, and Instrumentation

The appointments will be at the rank of Assistant/Associate Professor, to start in August 2010. Applicants for the position must have an earned Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering or a closely related field at the time of appointment, and must demonstrate significant potential or experience with undergraduate teaching. Thorough familiarity with experimental/lab procedures is required, and experience in engineering education at a North American university is highly desirable.

The compensation package for the positions includes tax-exempt base salaries, on-campus housing, annual two-way airfare, contributory health/life insurance, professional memberships, conference attendance expenses, assistance with children's tuition, and other components.
