The department of Information Technology Services at the American University in Dubai invites qualified applicants for the position of IT Program Support Technician.

• Install, configure and manage classroom installation of Oracle RDBMS / SQL server including creating and    deleting user account, sample databases, tables, procedures, data, and other DB administration tasks.
• Install and configure network switches and firewalls in an isolated teaching lab environment
• Install, configure and manage classroom installations of Windows 2000 Server, IIS Server, Linux Server and Linux workstation in isolated teaching lab environments
• Daily preparation of IT teaching labs as required
• Assist students in installation and configuration of instructional software on personal laptops
• Keep an inventory of IT Department lab equipment and software licenses
• Manage distribution of software licenses to appropriate students

Ideally, the successful candidates will have:

• At least 2-3 years technical support in a network environment supporting various end users
• Diploma, Associate, or Bachelors degree in Computer Applications
• Technical certification or proficiency in Core Products
• Strong technical knowledge of Windows 2000/XP, Linux/Unix, TCP/IP, Network hardware components (e.g. switches, routers), Internet Information Server
