This new course sequence will augment the University's existing course offerings in the humanities and will provide students with a broad, integrative, interdisciplinary context for understanding and critically evaluating issues that pertain to the human experience –- past, present and future.

The University invites qualified applicants for the position of Assistant Professor of Humanities, to start in August 2008. Applicants from a wide range of academic disciplines in the humanities, arts and cognate fields will be considered.

The ideal candidate will have

  • evidence of scholarly activity or strong potential for scholarly contributions;
  • excellent written and oral communication skills; and
  • an ability to work collegially within a team of faculty members from diverse disciplines.

The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching the new World Cultures courses and other humanities / arts courses.
