The Visual Communication program is designed to educate and to develop artistic and imaginative students for careers in the fields of commercial art and design. Emphasis is placed on the development of the thinking process and the ability to solve design problems creatively. Students learn the principles, practical applications, and methodologies used in completing competent and creative design solutions.
The Department of Visual Communication invites qualified applicants for an opening in the discipline of Graphic Design beginning in Fall 2008 ( August ).
Ideally, the successful candidate will have: A minimum of an MFA from a Western accredited university in Graphic Design
Practical field experience in design is required, experience with digital media, multimedia design, animation, web site graphics, web design, digital video editing and/or 3-D graphics is preferred.
- Experience and proficiency in teaching studio and lecture courses in graphic design
- Experience with teaching with the current software packages
- Experience in building and evaluating student portfolios
- Ability to read and design in Arabic is a plus
