The department of Liberal Arts at the American University in Dubai invites qualified applicants for the position of Assistant /Associate Professor of Mathematics beginning in August 2008.

Ideally, the successful candidates will have:

• Ph.D. in Mathematics, Mathematics Education (with at least a Master's degree in Mathematics, Statistics, or a related field).
• Excellent English written and oral communication skills
• Ability to work in a team

This position will be at the rank of Assistant / Associate Professor, commencing Fall 2008. Candidates must have an earned Doctorate from a Western accredited institution at the time of appointment.

Candidates must demonstrate significant potential and promise of teaching effectiveness and excellence at the undergraduate level, of professional scholarship and of student advising experience, as well as of other service to the department, school, and community.

The compensation package for this position is competitive and is based on the expatriate model. Besides tax-exempt basic salary, it includes housing, annual two-way airfare, health / life insurance, professional memberships, conference attendance expenses, assistance with children's tuition, and other components.
