The American University in Dubai (AUD) honored Mrs. Leila El Solh Hamadeh today for her exceptional charitable work as Vice Chairman of the Alwaleed Bin Talal Humanitarian Foundation.
Mr. Elias Bou Saab, Executive Vice President of AUD welcomed Mrs. Hamadeh and gave her a tour of the campus including the Library and the Student Center, discussing the history of AUD and explaining its future plans.

Born in Beirut in 1946, Hamadeh is the daughter of Riad Al Solh, the first Prime Minister of Lebanon, after the country's independence. He was known as one of the most important personalities in Lebanon’s struggle for independence and as a person able to unify Lebanon’s various religious groups in the struggle for independence. She was also the first Lebanese woman minister.

Her humanitarian work is conducted through her nephew’s foundation, HRH Prince Alwaleed bin Talal Alsaud. The foundation has become a pillar of support for educational, health and social organizations throughout Lebanon.
